The microscope used by elementary school students has a magnification of 200 times and consists of several parts such as a mirror holder, mirror column, mirror arm, lens barrel, focusing screw, stage, reflector, eyepiece, and objective lens. General Education Instruments
1. Mirror seat: It is a horseshoe shaped iron seat used to stabilize the mirror body and facilitate placement.
2. Mirror column: A pillar that rises from the mirror base to support the mirror arm. Mirror arm: connects the lens barrel and column, and is the part of a handheld microscope.
3. Tube: A metal tube connected to a mirror arm. There is a hole at the top of the teaching instrument for inserting an eyepiece, and an objective lens is installed at the bottom.
4. Accurate focus spiral: adjusts the movement of the lens barrel up and down, used to adjust the focal length and see objects clearly.
5. Stage: A platform on which the base of the mirror arm extends forward, with a space in the middle for a light hole. The slide specimen is placed on the light hole, and there are metal tablets on each side of the hole to fix the slide specimen.
6. Reflective mirror: It is a concave mirror that can rotate and reflect light through a hole onto the object being observed on a glass slide.
7. Eyepiece: The lens mounted on the barrel is equipped with two to three lenses, 5X, 10X, and 16X. 5X represents magnifying the object by 5 times, 10 represents 10 times, and 16X represents 16 times.
8. Objective lens: The lens installed under the barrel is marked with 10X, 40X. 10X represents magnifying the object by 10 times, and 40X represents magnifying the object by 40 times.
The magnification of a microscope=the magnification of the eyepiece x the magnification of the objective lens. Instructions for using a microscope:
1. Mirror retrieval and placement: Hold the mirror arm with your right hand and hold the mirror holder with your left hand. Place the lens barrel forward and the mirror arm backward gently on the experimental table, at a distance of 70mm-100mm from the edge of the table.
2. Regarding light: First, install the eyepiece and objective lens, and use the left eye to view through the eyepiece into the cylinder. At the same time, use the right eye of the teaching equipment to open and rotate the reflector by hand to shine the light through the light hole onto the objective lens until a bright white circular field of view is seen from the eyepiece.
3. Installation of slide specimen: Take a slide specimen that needs to be observed, place it on the stage, with the front of the slide facing upwards and the specimen facing the center of the light hole, then use a pressure clamp to press it down. Look at the objective lens from the side with both eyes, and move the focusing knob clockwise downwards with your hand until the objective lens is 2-3mm away from the slide to prevent it from damaging the slide.
4. Observation of glass slide specimen: After installing the glass slide specimen, observe it with the left eye through the eyepiece towards the lens barrel, open the right eye, and move the quasi focus knob up and down with your hand until the object image is clear.
